Science and Literacy
This week we enjoyed a beautiful day at the zoo on Monday. Students had the opportunity to visit several exhibits and get up close with the animals. We attended a program on butterflies, learning about their life cycle, the differences between moths and butterflies, the importance of native plants in an area for the survival of a butterfly, and the students had a chance to look at butterfly wings up close under a microscope. This experience launched us into our look at butterflies, their lifecycle, and their importance to our local environment. In the upcoming weeks, we will continue to look at environments in Alberta and local animals that are present in our local environment. Take a look at our adventure and the thoughtful work that we have been doing when reflecting on our time at the zoo.
